CASA AMANECER

Location

We are situated in a valley within fifteen minutes walk or two minutes by car from the village of Almogia. You can see the remains of the old castle and the roof tops from the balcony. There are Spanish bars and restaurants for typical tapas and Spanish meals as well as small shops to buy supplies. Once a week a market is held in the main street. There is an out door swimming pool which is open between June and September.
The Spanish also like to celebrate. This is evident with the many festivals held during the year when the whole village celebrates. Most villagers are dressed in traditional Spanish costume. They are very proud of their village and before any of these events the women of the village will paint all the balustrades and balconies. Plants will be set out in a mass of colour. Mosaics have been created to impress visitors from other villages.

Almogia is situated approximately thirty minutes from Malaga airport. The village nestles in the quiet mountainside between Malaga city and Antequera which is another historical town with Roman remains that have only been discovered in recent years and are still being excavated. There are more churches per square metre here than anywhere else in Spain. Between here and the village are the Torcal Mountains which are of geological and natural interest with many walks marked out for you to enjoy.
