About Us

We are David and Daphne Morgan. We moved to Spain in September 2006 after making the decision to change our very busy lifestyle so we could have a simpler and better quality of life.Daphne and David

We are from the West Midlands although David was born in Liverpool and left when still a child. I was born and grew up in the Black Country and still retain my broad accent.
David ran a successful building company for 25 years. He spent between 8am to 8pm every day working either with the lads on site, in the office or giving quotes to prospective clients. This left little time for hobbies. When he finished work it was a quick pint, an evening meal then bedtime to be ready for an early start the next day. However he did manage to watch a few football matches!

I worked for Radio Rentals for 24 years, part-time at first, then the last 21 years as Sales Manager. I left the house at 8am and after dropping my daughter off at the child minders had a 30 minute drive to work, then a full day’s work arriving home at 7pm. Tea to cook next day to prepare for, meal together and to bed shattered, only to repeat again next day.
We both decided in 2002 we wanted an easier life style with more time for each other and things we wanted to do. We also wanted to be warm, so we set ourselves a five year plan.Once the decision had been made we began to look around at what was on offer. We decided on Spain because of the weather and short flight time of 2 hours but where in Spain? We looked at holiday resorts which were busy and crowded much like in England with traffic everywhere and no place to park. We wrote down what we thought would be our ideal place “Must be within 30 minutes from airport and sea within 15 minutes of a small town or village and not on a complex.” After a week of looking we came across Almogia, a small village nestled in the hills just outside Malaga, perfect. So our dream began.
We have worked very hard to complete the villa and pool area. We have done it together in our own time and for us.The villa is now complete; we eat when we are hungry, get up when we wake with no alarm clock insisting we get up. We go to bed when we are tired. All this and we now have a great circle of friends a few English and Spanish and time to do all the things we have wanted to do for years, now we want to share our idyllic life style with you.
